AAE DOGS

Barkoka, 3.5 months old female, balady breed.... extremely playful, clean and cute but she needs a lot of training to learn how to move with a leash, also she's very friendly and her best friend is a child of the AAE visitors ....  she's eating all the kinds of food and she likes to play with EVERY THING, she's extremely amazing !!! Barkoka is for adoption and waiting for you in the AAE.
Cairo, he's not for adoption, he was brought to the AAE in the night by our rescue team after having car accident. he can move now but he didnt recover yet..

Luna, female of one year old, her owner let her in the street because he cant pay for the operation on her back limps. AAE is taking good care of her and soon she will be ready for adoption ..... she's calm and excellent to live with children.

Blue Day

Today was one of the hardest days ever for the AAE, we lost one of our beloved animals after long trip with the pain ..... Bondok, the dog who captured many of AAE visitors' hearts has passed away this afternoon, the doctor said that he wasnt able to stand the pain any more, even though they gave him pain killers but the pain was severe this time, Bondok came to the AAE after being hit by a car, he had a broken leg and the other one was badly injured but he was too thin, weak and old to withstand the operation so many vets recommended to feed him and give him some vitamins before doing any operation on him .... Bondok lived in the AAE very happy short life, but when it comes to do the operation to cure the injured leg, his pain started to appear on his smile more than before and he started to be calm than he used to be and today, he was totally down and sleeping on the ground so we called all the vets we know trying to help him to survive .... but he has passed away leaving all the team in their tears ......

During the weekly workshops, the horses feel like the luckiest animals ever.

I'm small but i need a care.

This puppy came to the AAE after been biting by another bigger one, the owner asked for the AAE help and we did, now he's fine and forgot the bad history that happened to him.

The owner through her as she was pregnant, we brought her to the AAE to keep her as safe as much that we can offer, she got adopted two days ago and the new owner said: i'm lucky to adopt such an animal.

At the mid night we received a phone call reporting a dog which was hit by a car and screaming in the street, adding that the people started to get bored of his screaming so they started to kick him which was totally stupid and cruel, AAE team went to the area where he's located and brought him to the clinic and there the doctor did a great job and now "CAIRO" is receiving the required treatment but he wont be like the normal dogs any more as he can hardly move on his back limps ...
Cairo with Taher (one of the AAE volunteers), Cairo now is fine and she can move but very hardly and not too fast, he's vaccinated also, he's funny and always fighting with the flies in the Air, Cairo now is ready for Adoption but he needs special home to take care of him ..... please help us to find him this special home.

Cats always fighting but they never know what are the results, some times its good and some times its very bad.

After removing his damaged eyes, he started to feel comfortable and to get used not to be wild any more.
Horses owners usually visits our clinic to check their horses' health, we are doing that for free as they cant pay for the expenses, we are doing our best also to raise the culture of having mercy on the working animals in this people.

Luna, the calmest dog ever. her owner brought her to the AAE and said that she has a lot of problems and he no longer want her, our manager offered to adopt her and she is receiving the medical care at our clinic until she become healthy.
WE NEED YOUR HELP AND YOUR SUPPORT .....  PLEASE VISIT US.

AAE previous work

Woman reported a dog suffering from severe scabies, the AAE team went to the place that the woman told about and he found him suffering like what appearing in the picture above so they did the needed medical care and thanks god he's fine now and adopted
Tourist reported a horse that badly injured and bleeding, the AAE team went to see what's going on! and we found abused horse ! we forced the owner to gave him a break from the work and we did the medical care .... the horse is fine now and the AAE volunteers are checking him from time to time.
The AAE visitors are from all Ages, and they usually find us the dream of having a true animal welfare organization in Egypt comes true by having the AAE.

while the AAE manager, Norhan Sherif, was walking in the street, she saw this donkey which was badly injured due to the belt used above so she asked the donkey's owner to go with her to the clinic and the doctor cured the horse then she helped him with a new soft belt so the horse wont get injured any more.
The story of this dog started when we received a phone call from one of our volunteers that she saw a dog was hit by a car and having scabies and also too thin and may be he wont survive, immediately the AAE team moved to the Area where the dog is located and caught him. then the doctor gave him the medicine needed, gave him a name and now Abla is with her new family living a very happy life.

A door man called us to report a puppy suffering, so two of our volunteers went with the vet to the Area where the dog is located and they end his suffering, bolbol now is fine and living with new family and they are visiting us from time to time.

AAE has many volunteers, most of them are from the youth. It wasnt expected at all to have all these people helping us specially from the youth but I think Egypt has wonderful people who can really do alot.
AAE has many supporters not only from Egypt but also from all the countries !!

During the weekly workshop, we really discover that running an organization in Alexandria became a must.

AAE is doing awareness campaigns and also participating in Musical Events so it can gather donations to keep the AAE running and ofcourse it happens with the help of the AAA.

Not every story has a happy ending, this horse reached for the AAE very late, the doctors did their best but he has passed away.

The little angels found new mother in the AAE by its volunteers and supporters/

Too late to help but we never gave up hope.

During the weekly workshops the horses are our permanent customers.

The AAE vet team is doing a surgery on a dog>

  2. AAE will help any animal in distress or suffering and will work towards educating the people and government on humane treatment of all animals.
  3. AAE’s scope of animals to help includes cats and dogs, working animals [eg. donkeys, mules, horses and camels], wild life animals and farm animals [eg. cows, sheep, goats and pigs], birds and native animals.
  4. AAE is a registered non profit charity established in December 2008 in partnership with Animal Aid Abroad Inc. in Australia.
  5. AAE believes that compassion, kindness and empathy should not be rationed to only humans. An animal feels pain, bewilderment and loss like you and me. It gives love, loyalty and companionship with unselfish intensity.

History

Janet Thomas, The AAA Founder
Animal Aid Abroad Inc. was started in August 2007 in Perth, Australia with the purpose to improve the conditions and treatment of animals in Alexandria, Egypt.
AAA has expanded its operations to help other animals in developing countries but its main purpose is still to improve the conditions and treatment of animals in Egypt.
AAA is a registered non-profit charity that was set up by Janet Thomas after working and living in Alexandria, Egypt. She witnessed on a daily basis the appalling and cruel treatment of the animals on the streets and in the local zoo. She became aware that no animal welfare facility was set up in Alexandria [Egypt’s second largest city with a population of over four million people] so she returned to Australia to raise the money to start a facility that will help the animals in Alexandria.
Norhan Sherif, The AAE manager
AAA began its work helping in the local zoo in Alexandria with support from a small group of local volunteers and Ahmed El Sherbiny from Animal Friends in Cairo to improve the conditions of the animals there. The first win for AAA and our Alexandria group was freeing a lone Asian elephant from her day chain so she could wander her enclosure freely. We also built her a shade canopy and reinforced her night den so she could not escape. We then moved onto improving the chimpanzee enclosure by working with the keepers to improve the diet of the two resident chimps, providing enrichment in their outside enclosure and campaigning to have their night dens get wooden floors.
AAA continues to work with the Egypt Zoo management to improve the conditions of the animals at this zoo. AAA is about to embark on the next stage of it’s involvement in Egypt by setting up a 24 hr clinic in the city of Alexandria in partnership with newly formed group, Animal Aid Egypt.

Our Purpose/activities are

provide medical treatment and rescue of injured, suffering and distressed animals.Spay and neuter cats and dogs including stray, street and owned animals. Begin a spay and neuter program for dogs and cats in Alexandria. The Animal Birth Control [ABC] program will include vaccinating animals against transmittable diseases such as rabies.Provide a mobile clinic service for rescues and medical treatment of equines, camels and farm animals. The mobile clinic will also serve as a mobile educational facility to help and teach equine owners, farm animal owners and people who have pets how to care and treat there animals humanely.Provide on-going awareness campaigns and workshops for pet owners and people who have animals .Promote re-homing and adoptions of rescued cats and dogs- locally and internationally.Provide disaster relief in areas around Alexandria and in Egypt generally in case of a natural disaster where animals are involved.Promote and campaign against the exploitation and hunting of native wildlife by working with government groups, other animal wildlife groups and the public
